1 Week Out

School starts in five days. In five days I’ll be walking into class as a 1L. (Did I really just say that?)

Today is the first day of orientation! I had an assignment due and from what I’ve heard, thats typical. The next few days are packed. Between orientation, Black Law Student Association (BLSA) events and the mentoring program I’m a part of, my schedule is jam packed. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m excited to meet my peers and become acquainted with my new community.

I’m also nervous. I have no idea what to expect. Well, I do, kind of. I’ve spoken to 1L’s, 2L’s and 3L’s at my school. They’ve given me great advice, but their experience was theirs. Mine will be different, because we’re obviously not the same. I’m anxious to see how the rest of the week will pan out.
