As you may already know, I love New York. I first visited when I was eight years old, and I’ve been in love ever since. I’ve experienced the snow filled winters, a white Christmas and the hot summers. I’ve seen rats runs across the subway tracks and locals sing and dance on the subway platforms. Yes the city is loud, dirty and fast paced. The people can be mean and insensitive. Its expensive. But I don’t mind any of that. I love New York.
My entire life I dreamed of going to law school in New York. I knew exactly where I wanted to attend, NYU Law, where I would live and the fabulous life that I would have. Apparently God thought my plan was funny and steered me in a different direction. We compromised and came to an agreement. I wont be spending three years at a law school in New York, racking up hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt. But, I will get to experience living in the city.
This summer I will be living in Manhattan for seven weeks, for free! Yes, for free! I’ll be working this summer in the city and I don’t have to spend a dime on a ridiculously expensive apartment! This summer is going to be my last hoorah before I start law school in August and to say that I’m excited is an understatement. I get to walk through central park, take the subway to the different bureaus, and eat everything I can get my hands on. For seven weeks I get to do any and everything I want to, in the City!
I’ll be blogging about my experience- the food, shopping and my obsessions. My best friend and my family live in New York, so I’ll be writing about our time together as well.
I honestly still can’t believe I was blessed with this opportunity. One that I will be forever grateful for.Thank you to all my friends and family for their support, because without them my summer plans wouldn’t have been this exciting.
I can’t wait to share this experience with you all!
