2015 Beauty Favorites

In my last post I briefly mentioned a few of my favorite products of 2015, but I need to tweak the list just a little bit. A few products I’ve been using for years, but most of them are new editions to my collection. I stepped out of my comfort zone and price range, and tried a few times. Surprisingly, I didn’t buy too many things because I fell in love with the new products I tried!

So lets get into them, shall we!

  1. Glamglow YOUTHMUD Tinglexfoliate Treatment $19-$69
    1. Ok..So, I’ll be honest with you. When I first heard about this product I said I’d never try it because its way too expensive. Who has $69 to spend on a mud mask??! I sure don’t. Last summer, I got a free sample of the face wash and a few months later I tried it. It.was.amazing. I used the face wash like a mask- left it on for 10 minutes, then washed it off. My skin felt so soft. So, so, so soft. I still wasn’t convinced that the mask was for $69, though. After I did some browsing on Sephora.com, I saw smaller size for $19. I bought it that same day. As you can see, the jar is kinda small. But I’ve used it six times already, (once with my boyfriend) and there’s still a decent amount left. Is it worth $69, no. $19? ABSOLUTELY.

  2. Original Beauty Blender $20
    1. To be honest, It’s a really good sponge. I get the hype. It’s soft, blends makeup like a dream, and the other sponges on the market don’t come close.  It’s on my favorite list because I bought it, I use it almost every day, and its too late to return it 😂. Will I buy it again? No.
  3. Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge $6.99
    1. This.right.here. Is.amazing. I bought this sponge before I bought the original beauty blender and I fell in love with it. I have three. 😶 I have three things to say about it.
      1. It might be better than the beauty blender 😶
      2. Don’t let the price fool you, it’s a good product.
      3. I can’t say one bad thing about it
  4. Maybelline Fit Me Foundation
    1. When I first tried this foundation, I had to mix two different shades because the shades for darker women (approximately 4 😒- I’ll talk about this in another post) didn’t match me. I used this almost everyday this year. The revamped formula is amazing; the last one made me look like I moisturized with bacon grease. Its not cake-y at all, very build-able and light weight. I don’t like the packaging- a pump would would so much better.
  5. Colourpop “Beeper”
    1. I first heard about Colourpop earlier this year, but I never looked into it. I wasn’t really doing too much makeup shopping anyway, and their products didn’t wow me. A couple months ago a few YouTubers I follow posted yet another video and my best friend Latoya bought some products so I had to try it. I’m so happy I did. I went kind crazy, I placed three different orders in two weeks. I bought a few of their liquid lipsticks, but I’ve only worn one- Beeper. It’s the perfect brown girl nude color. I wear it almost every time I weak makeup. Did I mention it’s only $6?
    2.
  6. NYX Liquid Eye Liner
    1. I only wear liquid liners, always have probably always will. I don’t like felt tip liners, and I’ve never tried gel liners so I don’t have too much to say about it. I don’t think liners are something you should spend tens of dollars on, so I stick with NYC. The applicator is great, the color is opaque and it dries quick.
    2.
  7. Vaseline Lip Therapy
    1. I but two of these every month. I have one in my purse, school bag, my desk and my makeup area. I can’t go a couple hours without using this. If your lips are dry and crusty, try this. ITS AMAZING!
    2.
  8. Tea Tree Oil
    1. This might seem weird, but I’ve had a bottle of pure tea tree oil on hand all year long. What do I use it for? Breakouts. When pimples pop up, I just put a couple drops of the oil on a qtip, then dab in on the pimple at night. I do this a couple for a couple days, then the pimple is gone.I try not to use it too much because the oil is very drying.
    2.

I think this is it. I tried to include products that came to mind almost immediately. If I didn’t think about it, then it’s not on here. I’m sure after I post this I’ll think of a few more products that I love, but I’ll just talk about them another time…maybe.

What were your favorite products of 2015?

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I like Real Techniques sponge but love Beauty Blender! Few days back I wrote a little review about it while also comparing BB with Real Techniques sponge. You might want to check that out 😉 Also it would be great if you followed me back so we could support each other on this road of blogging 😊👌
